01 OVERVIEW

The Orwellian Film Festival is a fictional event that is a celebration of all things when it comes to dystopian and apocalyptic films. This one-day event allows George Orwell enthusiasts to come together, enjoy film showings (both classic and recent), participate in meet-and-greets, and have paneled discussions and debates.

The Watchful Eye

A common theme of dystopian films and literature there is always a form of “Big Brother” is a looming surveillance, originated by George Orwell in his classic novel Ninety Eighty-Four. I chose to bring both the human and technological supervision with human eye-like features and camera-like precise circles and reflections.

Minimalism With an Unsettling Edge.

I chose to lean into eerie, unsettling, and minimalist vibes that echo the atmosphere of dystopian media. To balance this mood, I incorporated elements inspired by mid-century modern design, creating a visual language that feels both stark and stylish. The result is a brand identity that is hauntingly simple yet grounded in a familiar aesthetic, striking a balance between discomfort and timeless design.
